On Friday 25th May, YOUR LMG brings you a unique dance party experiment in the form of three acts who are all "feel good" party animals in their own right. If you enjoy dancing - and being surprised by acts you never thought would go together - then Mercury will be the place to be. PH FAT has built a following of impressive proportions - tapping into people's desire to simply let lose. Their psychedelic-bass-rap is of the variety that bases itself around fat beats, but doesn't lose the crowd who wants to hear melody too. THE NOMADIC ORCHESTRA is a band on the rise. This Balkan Gypsy Oompah Dance Band is the part of the Dirty Bounce movement that rocked Mercury last month. They tap into subliminal tribal instincts already in your genes and thanks to your great-grandmother's second cousin's half brother from Romania. 7FT SOUNDSYSTEM is Cape Town's premier dub DJ. That is Dub, not Dub-step... For the uninitiated, dub originally grew out of reggae and was made famous by luminaries such as "King Tubby" Ruddock and Lee "Scratch" Perry. Yves Adler was the original bassist for 7th Son, so he knows his dub from his ska, and his reggae from his dance-hall. The perfect party starter! R30 gets you in, see you at Mercury!

Hi fellow darklings. Ask anyone who went, last years world goth day party was fantastic. This year we are aiming to make it even bigger. Here are the details you've all been waiting for. This year World Goth day Cape Town will be happening at Mercury. We have booked the... entire complex. You know what that means? . . . . . 2 dancefloors. Gotham the entity, Phoenix and DarkPower have joined forces to bring you a night to remember. Wolf Clothing, Terminatryx, BLACKMILK and possibly more, have come onboard to help make this party unforgettable. Virtue2Vice Alternative will be handing out goodie bags with sexy accessories from their Lust and Wrath line to the best dressed couple, best dressed male and best dressed female and a secret Limited Edition World Goth Day prize for the winners as well. The actual World Goth day is on the 22nd of may. This year it falls on a Tuesday, so we have approached A Touch of Madness in obs to be part of the whole celebration. On that Tuesday night we are having a kinda pre-party (drinks, and we get to take over the sound system) there. For those of you unfamiliar with A Touch of Madness, it's the most amazing little bar/restaurant/coffee shop, and they are very open to alternative types. We really hope to see you at A Touch of Madness, and then on the 26th for the big one. This year's theme is Carnevale di Sangue (Carnival of Blood)... It is a masked ball in the Venetian tradition. Masks are required on entry - if you don't have a mask we will have some at the door at a small surcharge... So think flowing gowns, head-pieces, masks & capes... and of course.. blood... After all,darkness can be so exquisitely beautiful. :)
