The aim of the project is to foster a love of reading and writing through storytelling, drama, songs and games. The project employs the use of both the English and Xhosa medium and is facilitated by volunteers from the University of Cape Town and the Nyanga community itself. After a very successful first year in operation, this year we hope to grow the project to expose over 60 grade one's and two's to an environment where reading is made fun and accessible in a language that children can understand. “Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more. Anthony Robbins We at Little Moon strive to offer the precious gift of a positive experience in basic education to these children in the hope of developing their love for literacy - which is fundamental to any learning.
